The words "natural" or "normal" make structures of inequality common sense when they are not. For example, many societies accepted homosexuality - there are temples in India that acknowledge these in their carvings.
Secondly, I don’t think that society in general regards women’s opinion as equal to men’s - I mean certainly in my own relationships men have valued the opinion of men over the opinion of women (men who are heterosexual). This can be and has been observed in many work environments (hence the gender pay gap prevalent in almost every society and in the UK, every industry, even ones with a predominantly female workforce).
